The Artistic Director
Jon Berry's Portrait:Jon Berry as founder and Artistic Director of WHCT has directed all but six of our productions.  In the last four years he has been nominated as director three times by the Valley Theatre League for their Artistic Director Achievement Award and winning once in 1996 for directing Gigi and again in 1998 for directing The Fantasticks. As an actor, he has worked on stage professionally in New York, Kentucky, New Mexico and Los Angeles.  He originated the role of Eddie Hayhurst in Academy Award winner Horton Foote’s critically acclaimed off-Broadway production of The Roads to Home.  He also had a recurring role for two season on the Fox network series Mr. President starring George C. Scott, and has appeared in episodes of Quantum Leap, Matlock, and Doogie Howser, M.D. among others.  He has also done many commercials, both nationally and locally.  Jon has done extensive ADR work (voice-over) for many television shows, most notably Murder She Wrote and The Cosby Mystery Series. On our stage, he has had key roles in several of our most popular productions. He is especially excited about the West Valley Playhouse's inaugural production of Proposals.
